It would seem like a career in real estate for the daughter of a stock and station/real estate agent would be a natural and smooth progression, but my decision to join this profession didn’t take the most direct route. After finishing school in Bathurst I was mesmerised by the excitement and opportunities that the bright lights of Sydney had to offer. Pursuing a variety of roles, predominantly administration and customer focused, afforded me time to develop and appreciate the skills of time management, organisation, communication, and the responsibility that comes with the trust that people place in us as real estate agents. Unfulfilled by these pursues I wanted a career that would enable me to help people in a way that I could bring together the study and skills I already had and a desire to do more.

Real Estate seemed the most obvious place for me to be. A good real estate agent can make dreams be realised, facilitate a transition or transaction. I successfully completed a diploma in Real Estate Management in 2000 with distinctions and have been living and working as an agent in Dubbo since 2001. I believe that in order to truly understand the position that others are in it helps to have been there yourself. As such I have been a tenant, landlord, investor, buyer and seller. Using each facet of these experiences I try to deliver on all the expectations I had and deliver them with honesty, integrity and a deep sense or professionalism.

Real Estate is both a challenging and rewarding career that requires dedication, focus and a thirst for knowledge pertaining to your local market and the needs of those in it. This is something that I work on everyday.

Dear Colin, I recently purchased the property at 5B Longabardi Street, through Susan Walsh at your office. The property was purchased in the name of my self-managed superannuation fund, and the transaction was a little more complicated than a usual purchase. I live in Canberra, so the purchase was also handled remotely. I have a number of investment properties in other cities, and I wanted to let you know that my experience during the purchase and leasing of this property was outstanding. The level of service provided by both Susan during the purchase, and Lisa Lyons in securing a tenant has been excellent. Susan and Lisa kept me in the loop regarding any changes and delays, and Susan also stayed in contact with my solicitor, who was extremely difficult to contact at times. Suring the purchase negotiations, Susan provided a rent estimate of $330.00 per week, and a number of real estate agents in Dubbo provided comparative rental estimates of $310 -$320 per week. Lisa and Susan worked together to arrange access for Lisa to show prospective tenants through the property prior to settlement. I’m delighted to advise that Lisa achieved a 12 month lease at a rent of $350 per week.
